About

We’re committed to bringing God’s Church back to the center of every community…

A Global Faith-Based Nonprofit

Our world is hurting like never before—rising homelessness, addiction, incarceration, and more are leaving communities broken and searching for hope.

Too often, well-meaning community-based organizations and nonprofits fall short of addressing deeper issues and offering a way to true healing.

Meanwhile, countless churches dream of being a powerful force for restoration but feel outgunned, under-resourced, and unsure where to begin.

Who We Are

At CityServe we value… collaboration, community, service, integrity and inclusivity.

Vision

Our vision is to empower the local church to be the center of community and the driving catalyst for restorative relationships with those in need.

A Collaborative Network
Designed for Greater Impact

Through a collaboration of churches, faith-based nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and community leaders, we empower and equip the local church to reach those who are hurting and in need with compassion.

History & Milestones

For several decades CityServe Co-Founders, Wendell Vinson & Dave Donaldson served together both within the local church and in leading national relief and compassion organizations responding to national and international disasters. During those years a growing awareness to see the local church across America strengthened and resourced to reach their neighborhoods more effectively became a burning passion. This deep conviction that the local church is God’s infrastructure for the healing of America moved our Co-Founders to respond to doors that God was clearly opening. It soon became obvious that a God sized miracle of significant proportion was in the works.

2020

Covid - 19 pandemic became a global crisis. Through relationships previously formed between CityServe co-founders and government leaders in the United States Department of Agriculture, CityServe was called upon by the White House to help coordinate the national faith-based food response through the Farmers to Families emergency food program. The Faith-Based Community for Farmers to Families, facilitated by CityServe, distributed 17.3 million food boxes to families in the "Last Mile of Need" which accounted for approximately 10% of the program's distribution nationwide.

Through the continued Covid-19 Farmers to Families response CityServe was introduced to thousands of churches and leaders across the nation. These relationships opened a wide door for CityServe to expand from California to additional states through the development of our National Affiliate Model.

In 2021 CityServe also moved into the newly constructed central administrative offices. As well, CityServe began construction on what will be the heart of the organization, “The Matthew 25 Center for Compassion Initiatives”. This center will support the 10 Initiative teams charged with resourcing and strengthening the local church nationally to engage in God’s compassion template seen throughout scripture.
